I always focus on developing people in all that I do, while staying grounded in the practicalities of life and getting things done. I am lucky to have travelled so far and worked in such a variety of cultures.

For the past eleven years I have been coaching people in life and organisations, while based mainly in the UK. I've gradually matured from Life Coaching into Psychotherapy - I am a member of NLPtCA. It has been a natural for me to specialise in relationship coaching and counselling for the last eleven years (seven of those doing relationship counselling as well), given my previous background of coaching small elite teams under pressure. I am also a member of Resolution, the family law organistion.

I have over twenty years of international coaching experience with both able- and disabled athletes. I have held elite coaching positions in major sailing nations (notably GBR, Spain, Netherlands and Israel) and worked individually for many exceptionally talented and successful sailors from various countries. As a top Olympic coach, I have a particular affinity working with ambitious and successful people.

For those that do not know, high level sailing is the most diverse sport. Personal coaching involves motivation, team-work and technical knowledge of the games and equipment. Team coaching requires management of people, logistics and good planning. Campaign management takes in all of this, as well as setting the vision and targets at the beginning, finishing on time (and to budget) while gaining results. A real mixed bag.

PAST OLYMPIAN

I know what it's like to personally live through the hopes and pressures of success too. I am a past Olympian (Sailing 1984) having created Olympic history by becoming the first women helmsman in the modern Olympics. The earlier campaigns were when sport was amateur, and I worked in HR, Communications, Retail Management, and Project Management before turning freelance.

I gave back to sport too. I spent 22 years serving as a volunteer on committees with the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), and 10 years as a member of the Team GBR Paralympic Selection committee.

Badge of the Professional Guild of NLP

In order to transfer my skills from sport into working with anyone, I trained with Pegasus NLP Training (Certification Training and NLP workshops in the New Forest  - for people who like to think for themselves) and have added NLP Master Practitioner qualifications to the many sailing certificates. I then trained as a Clean Facilitator, and use Clean Language most of the time now.  I also hold the Prince2 Project Management qualification.

Cathy was able to analyse any situation in a way I never saw before. She could put her finger on the right problem, and then get to the heart of the issue. This honesty is the choice of brave people, and if you want to face things, then employing Cathy is a winner. In short, she has a brilliant sense of judgement and I would seek her advice on every subject in any field of life.
